1. Is my preferred date available?

Weddings are normally booked 2 hours apart. Go to Calendar
If your preferred date and time is available, simply make an appointment to meet with Richard. Its essential to book an appointment which are only on Sundays. Contact him by email or phone. Go to Contact Page
2. WHO do I contact?
You contact the Wedding Minister the Revd. Richard James directly!

3. Do you do Sunday or Weekday Weddings?
YES. Sunday afternoons or even a weekday are possible. Richard can advise you of the availability of most dates immediately.
4. What is the DVD recording of the service?
As one of the special touches for each couple, a video
recording of the ceremony from entering to leaving
the church is provided on DVD. Though not “professional”

5. Do you marry divorced persons?
We seek to be as compassionate and helpful as possible but in simple terms if there is no “going back” we aim to help you “go forward”. Your preparation for remarriage will need to be tailored to address the known factors divorcees face. Each couple will be given all possible help toward a fresh start.
6. Do we have to be “baptised” or Anglican?
NO. There are no requirements to be Anglican or baptised to be married at St Thomas’.
7. How many does the church seat?
St Thomas is ideal for all size groups from quite small to very large weddings. Being a large church it can seat up to 500+ people. Its design however, allows groups as small as 30 to sit in the front middle seats allowing a very intimate and close service.
8. What preparation is required?
One reason we called this website GREATChurchWedding.com is to advertise our commitment to help make your wedding day a GREAT day! Put simply, we offer very helpful preparation. Your preparation will include
• Doing a Marriage Preparation Course
• Doing an Computerised Relationship Inventory
• Meetings with the Wedding Minister
• Doing a course to help you “get closer” to God in your marriage.
9. What parking is available?
A large multi-level covered Council Car park is next door to the church and it is FREE on weekends.(Normal fees on Weekdays) So parking is rarely a problem. Go to Maps
10. What Music is provided?
Our professional organist is included in the package. Alternative music is permitted but needs to be approved by the Wedding Minister. Simply ask him when you call if you have something particular in mind. As a rule we are reasonable allowing alternate music.
11. Do you allow couples from other churches?
IMPORTANT: If you are a couple who regularly attend another church, St Thomas has special conditions related to you having your wedding. It is important you tell Richard you are from another church when you first contact him. Our new wedding ministry aims to provide weddings for couples who don’t have a church they attend. This means we are less able to book out our church for Guest Christian weddings. If you wish to know more about the special conditions, contact Richard directly.
12. Do you have facilities for a reception or refreshments?
